Notes from a Lifestyle Entrepreneur – We are into the second week of 2016…

Are you ready to shake it up?

I can tell you if you are planning on doing the same ‘ol thing you’ve been doing – you might find you won’t get the same results.

Everything around us is changing and shifting rapidly. Technology, of course, but the way we do things, the way we show up, the energy in the world, and all this impacts our businesses. Marketing now isn’t the same as it was 5, 10 or 15 years ago. You have to stay awake and stay present.

That means you need to shake things up from time to time. Go on some creative adventures. Meet new people. Have new experiences. I took my boys last weekend to the Monster Jam show in Atlanta.

My cousin, Henry, is in the organization and gave us the inside scoop on what happens behind the scenes (who know that sourcing the right dirt for the show was so important in every country!). We had lots of fun and it definitely shook things up – especially our ear drums! (more…)

[Miracle Marketing] Start Leading Transformational Retreats

This Year Start Leading Fun,Transformational and Profitable Retreats

I absolutely love to lead small, intimate retreats in beautiful environments. You probably have seen my pictures over the years of my oceanside creative business retreats and masterminds. I know that you too have a dream of leading fun, creative and transformational retreats too!

Now is the time. Everyone is looking for smaller group programs where they can receive more personal attention. They are  really tired of giant events with a lot of hoopla but little real value.

It’s easier than you think to get started.

This year you can host a small simple retreat in your hometown in a pretty inspiring space and then once you get the design and details down you can easily move into leading a retreat with travel to a beautiful location.

I want to share with you my top five tips to help you say yes to leading a retreat this year!

Tip #1: Beautiful environments create shifts.

Being in a creative space, near the ocean, in the mountains, or in a dynamic urban environment, gets the energy moving and changes our perspective, our thoughts, our possibility thinking. Spend a day scouting around and visiting cool, creative spaces to see what’s available – the botanical gardens, co-working spaces, retreat centers, or event bed and breakfast lodgings with event spaces are a few options.  Let the space inspire you and your clients! Well…how was it?

Your first week of 2016?

I took quite a bit of time off during the holidays for some traveling and creative adventures.  So, I’ve been using this first week for creating my 2016 plans.

In December I reviewed 2015, and got my 2016 ideas and plans down on paper.  This week I’ve been plugging in my plans – deciding my YES’s and my No’s and Not Nows.

I’ve got a fresh supply of colorful sticky notes, markers, calendars and mindmaps out.

I also want to share with you that you can create your very own Creative Business Plan for 2016!  I’ll share my favorite tools with you and teach you my 10 Step Creative Business Planning Cycle.
